and each variation there is anyone who is downloading EPUBs with Android Froyo's Browser or accessing the C/S authenticated with Aldiko I'd appreciate tips.īTW, I know I have the options of connecting the Android device as an ereader (USB), using Save to Disk and Connect to Folder, but the content server is my normal access method. To get authentication working, I've tried: Aldiko will not authenticate with the C/S, however, I can access it by removing the password. Like the user above, the browser will access the content server (but not download EPUBs so far or PDFs - only txt). I'm assuming since it works with the browser, that the problem is at the Aldiko end of things, but I thought it worth asking.,Christmas day and the wife has purchased an Archos 7o Tablet. I'm not sure what I might need to do to get this working. It works when I use the Android browser, but not from within Aldiko. and can browse and download ebooks! Hurray! However for some reason I cannot get user authentication to work. The way it works now, Calibre writes them into an import area and you import them, or you grab them from the content server using Aldiko's network access functions.I'm trying to get the Calibre server and Aldiko to play together, but not all is well. Are you referring to the folder structure or the actual SQL file?ĪFAIK, to get Calibre and Aldiko to work well together, one would want Calibre to write into the Aldiko SQL file (the "Aldiko database") and write the books into the Aldiko file structure the way Aldiko expects them to be organized. In purchased ePubs, the covers are separate as in Aldiko. Calibre does the same thing, although the fields and folder structure differ. But Moon+ Reader seems to do two odd things: 1) My covers are isolated like normal books in that the text for the first chapters are right below the cover. Calibre is firstly designed as a desktop app, which I knew may cause some difficulty installing it on a headless system, but it turned out to be an easy process thanks to some documentation I. Luckily this is still supported by Calibre and they have easy install instructions here. IIRC, Aldiko uses an SQL database and a folder structure. My home server is currently still on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. You wrote about an alternative of just having Calibre "mimic aldiko" in the context of a conversation about having Calibre change the Aldiko database directly, then you say you're referring to directly changing the database. Apparently WordPlayer did work, but has a problem with the current version of Calibre. On others, the cover Ive created doesnt show up, but the files original front page does. I would like to know which Android readers work with the content server. When some of my books import into Aldiko, they have the cover image (generated from the plug-in) intact and it shows up on the Aldiko Shelf thumbnail. The beginning part is the 'sync to folder' part of calibre, just being used with the same folder structure aldiko already uses to store books.I'm confused. I have Aldiko 2.1 installed on my Android 2.3 tablet and am using Calibre 8.33 to manage my library. I was referring to directly changing the aldiko database. I looked at the /aldiko/library.db, and it is a SQLite database, works fine with python. That way you can do bulk uploads, get tags/collections working etc. It could be good, or it could be not particularly useful. Calibre and Aldiko 11 chaley 07-09-2010, 02:39 AM Quote pajen I see your point, I would also like to be able to sync to Aldiko. I still believe that it could be a very sweet pairing, but I have no idea what has happened in the last year. My plans were to do at least as well as we do with the sony. They have their own priorities, and it makes sense that they pay attention to them.Īldiko does (did) use a database, and at the time it didn't seem outrageous to build a close integration. Note that I am not casting aspersions upon Aldiko. If they didn't care, it was hard for me to care. That, along with the lack of support told me that (at the time) the project was unimportant to them. I am happy with my PRS-300.Ģ) After the first email exchange, no messages were answered. I was unable to justify spending my own money and my own time to help them, when in the end my only interest was the challenge of it. It was up to me to purchase devices with differing levels of android OS, differing screens, etc. Is that it? I thought it was just lack of interest/financial support to get him an Android device needed to write the code.It was two things:ġ) they offered no support for obtaining devices. First, install some necessary dependencies: sudo apt update & sudo apt install -y libfontconfig libgl1-mesa-glx Now download and install the calibre server.
